There are a bunch of things you need to download or do on your PC before you go ahead and start the process of rooting the 6T. First of all, go ahead and download the ADB Drivers for Windows/macOS.

Once you have downloaded the driver for your system, you need to install these by following the steps mentioned on the linked pages above. Now, move over to your phone and do the following things:

Backup your Phone

  • Take a backup of everything on your phone including your internal SD card, photos, music, downloads or whatever data you might have on your phone. This is important because the phone will be wiped completely including its internal storage.
  • If you have a phone from brands such as Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi or any other bigger brand, then you might be syncing your phone’s backup already to your Google Drive account. Keep in mind that this requires Android 9 Pie on the phone which 6T definitely runs on.

Enable USB Debugging & OEM Unlocking

  • On your phone, go to Settings > About PhoneTap the BUILD NUMBER 7-8 times.
  • You will see a notification that says Developer options are enabled. Or if you already have Developer options enabled, you will see a notification that says You’re already a Developer!
  • Go back to the main Settings page and go to Developer Options. These options are meant to make changes for developers working on apps etc.
  • On this page, look for two options:
    • USB Debugging
    • OEM Unlocking
  • Turn both of them on and then make sure that your phone is fully charged.

Things to Resolve Blurry Images in OnePlus 6 and 6T?

If the latest OTA update is also unable to fix the blurry image issue on your OnePlus 6 and 6T it is quite possible that you have been worrying for unnecessary reason. We can check the below thing to ensure that we get the picture from the OnePlus 6 Dual Camera setup.

  1. Clean the OnePlus 6’s camera Bump: Often with time a lot of dust is accumulated in and around the camera bump, one needs to keep the area clean in order to get a clear picture.
  2. Picture resolution: Ensure you are clicking in the correct resolution, a smaller resolution for a wider picture will indeed produce clear mages. To check this open Setting from camera application and go into “Resolution” settings. Clicking pictures on higher resolution will always bring out a sharper picture.
  3. Focus Mode: If you are clicking an image where the subject is really close to lens, ensure to focus properly on the subject. These camera sensors are programmed in a way that if focus is set properly, we can blur a required area (background or foreground) as and when required. Hence wrong focusing can also lead to a blurry image.

Above points can be taken care of to avoid blurry images in OnePlus 6 and 6T. However, all points stated above are explained considering the OTA update which fixed the issue. These steps won’t work for anyone who has an issue with the camera’s hardware.

[Fixed] OnePlus Battery Optimization Issues

Fix OnePlus Battery Issues: One of the most annoying things about the newer OnePlus phones is its battery life. Even the OnePlus 6 has a mere 3300mAh of battery juice where you have to power a lot of things.

This is why there’s an option named Battery Optimization in Android which suppresses the background activity of apps and makes sure that you get better battery life on OnePlus. While this is a really good feature and helps conserving battery in a lot of ways, it can also be very annoying at the same time. Apps such as WhatsApp, Truecaller, and even Google Opinion Rewards don’t work as they should if Battery Optimization is configured incorrectly.

fix OnePlus battery issues

As a user of OnePlus smartphones for a long time, and the fact that I have to set a battery optimization settings for some apps, again and again, gets a bit annoying after a while.

How to Fix OnePlus Battery Optimization Issues

The main reason why your Battery Optimization setting resets every now and then is due to the fact that apps can update in the background and if the app isn’t used for days and if the phone reboots. Here are some of the best ways to counter this issue and make sure you don’t see the bug again while we wait for OnePlus to fix this issue for us.

1. Lock Apps in Phone Memory

OnePlus Battery Optimization

The best way to go about to ignore this bug is by locking apps running in the background in memory. All you need to do is open the Recents apps screen and then tap the menu icon where you will find options that are listed in the screenshot above. Tapping the Lock option will lock the app in the memory and the Battery Optimization settings won’t change for the locked app.

2. Pause Auto-Updates for Apps

A temporary solution is also pausing the auto-update for apps and what this will do is it won’t reset the internal settings for an app once it is updated from Play Store. You can choose to update the apps only when the major and critical updates such as security updates are available.

OnePlus auto updates

To do that, you need to open the Play Store on your phone and then you need to go to Play Store Settings. You will see an option for Auto-update apps. Tap the option and then choose Don’t auto-update apps.

After this is done, the apps won’t update in the background and you can manually update the apps whenever you wish to do so. This eliminates the chances of the Battery Optimization setting to not work correctly.

3. Disable Deep Optimization

One of the best ways to tackle this issue is by completely disable Battery Optimization. This will have one negative effect and all the apps will be able to run in the background and this will lead to worse battery life.

On your OnePlus smartphone, go to Settings > Battery and Battery Optimization. Here you will be able to the 3-dots menu icon and you have to tap on that. Once tapped, you will see an option to disable Deep Optimization. Make sure it is turned off and you will notice that the battery optimizations settings will be disabled.

These were the best ways to make sure that the Battery Optimization bug is dealt with on a user level until we wait for OnePlus to update their firmware for this bug.
